AMC 20T piston rings

Post  mr835 on Mon Aug 09, 2010 11:33 am

Hi all,
I'm after a set of piston rings for a 20T engine, either +.015" or +.030" . The skirts on the +.015 piston had lots of wear marks on its sides so I guess the rings gave up the ghost a long time ago; must of made one hell of a noise too! The +.030 piston looks OK, but I figure I should replace the rings as a mater of course.
Both pistons are of the type with the peg above the ring. I've tried Villiers Services but with no luck. Anyone know of another source?

Cheers!

yOU MAY HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH THE ABOVE,THE MAN IS SERIOUSLY ILL AND AS SUCH IS NOT DOING BUISNESS AT THE MOMENT!If yiu are stuck i have a new boxed set on +040,you would have to remove 031 thou off the end with a file and the restore the peg gap by the same amount i have done this on numerous occasions, you have to be careful, but it can be done ,phone me 01989 750731 if you wish to go this route,JH
