AMC 20T Piston

Post  davejose on Mon May 17, 2010 11:35 am

I have just purchased a spare 20T engine at the Kempton Park autojumble on Saturday and on stripping it down found it has a melted piston, no big deal but I am unable to tell if it is a standard or oversize one. It will probably need a rebore so would anyone know where I can obtain a standard or oversize piston & rings for it or a decent engineering service who could do a rebore.
Thanks Dave J

You could try measuring the bore? standard size is 59mm and every .25mm is approx .010" and so on .20T pistons are notoriously hard to find ,dont buy the 17T one by mistake ,distinquished by cut out in rear of bottom of skirt,JH

20T Piston

As John says these are a bit hard to find. Your best bet is to keep your eyes open on Ebay for both FB and James. I managed to find an almost new piston and a barrel on there. If you do find a piston that is wrong for your bore I do have a couple of barrels but not sure of the sizes.
