Model 96 control cable runs

Post  dalgrae on Fri Nov 03, 2017 2:08 pm

Hi can someone please advise me regarding the front brake and clutch cable routing on my model 96,do they go through the 2 holes on the top of the front fork crown bracket ,this seems to me a natural run for the cable from the control levers on the handle bars,I would if they do assume a suitable rubber grommet would be fitted in the hole to stop the cable rubbing the outer cover onto the hole.

Cable runs

I can't tell you if they are supposed to go through those holes but I have the same type of forks and put mine through them. You can't fix them tight as when the forks compress the cable needs to move or buckle
You will also need to thread them through thin end first as unless you gave a two part lever nipple it won't Ho through.
