Ken,
Answer 1 :- so you can hang it up on a convenient nail in your outside "dunny" next to your wad of newspaper squares?
Answer 2 :- I give up Ken, tell us please!

Seems the decompressor vents through the head and through that hole and through a drilling in the barrel into the exhaust port.

Decompressor

Post  piston 197 on Mon Oct 23, 2017 4:29 pm

Pre war engines and AMC competition engines decompress to atmosphere, 6E,7E,8E,9E,10E,11E,32A and 37A decompress to the exhaust port when fitted with a decompressor so if using the decompressor option the action is silent., There is an angled drilling in the head which aligns the decompressor with the hole in the gasket ( if fitted the correct way round) and the vertical drilling into the exhaust port.
