Tufnol fork bushes

Post  Mike Cambray on Wed Sep 27, 2017 10:03 pm

I am reconditioning the forks on my 1953 James Cadet (apologies for posting on FB forum, can't find a James equivalent).

I've got the sliders and springs out and plan to have the sliders re-chromed and ground back to original diameter by Pittedforks.co.uk, and the springs replaced.

However I will need to extract the Tufnol bushes (two in each leg), source/make some new ones, fit them in the fork legs, and ensure a snug fit on the sliders with a line reamer. Does anyone have any wisdom they can offer, or recommend anyone who could tackle the rebushing job.
Thanks for tolerating a James owner on your site.

Many thanks, I've posted there too. Any tips from FB owners still gratefully received.
