Fulmar 88 or 90?

Post  FB vincent on Mon Aug 21, 2017 4:38 pm

There is a slightly odd FB Fulmar on Ebay at the moment.

Although it appears to be a Fulmar 88, it is fitted with the 4 speed Villiers gearbox as per the Sports Fulmar 90. Since so few Fulmar 90's were sold, could it be that the 4 speed gearbox came from a James Scooter? Can any Fulmar experts identify what it really is? Sandy (just curious)

Motor is correct for a fulmar sports 90 as is the gearbox and magneto cover, the James SC 4 scooter uses a similar set up but barrel is way different and engine lies horizontal not upright.
looks to be either a sports engine in a Fulmar 88, or a Sports Fulmar 90 with Fulmar 88 guards ??

The frame number is quoted in the listing beginning E90 so it's a true Sports 90 but as John says with 88 guards plus a few other 'adornments' which add nothing to its appeal.
