Exhaust pipe

Post  philipburton on Mon Aug 07, 2017 7:29 am

Any clues why on my Cruiser the exhaust pipe is on my left when sitting on the bike, whereas in a lot of photos I see the pipe is generally on the right.

Is prob a dumb question sorry but curious

I think you'll find that Villiers engined 225cc Cruisers model 68, 71, and 75 it's on the left. AMC engined 250cc Cruisers 80, 84 it's on the right. Not forgetting the Villiers twin 250cc Cruiser 89 which gets one each side!

regards,
Steve.

It's not a dumb question.
Easy to tell the AMC as the pipe exits the barrel to the right and should be clamped on the right.

Real reason ??

Post  piston 197 on Tue Aug 08, 2017 5:54 am

Well the bike in the picture of your avatar appears to be a FB Cruiser 68 and not a Cruiser 80 ???? so that would be why it has a L/Hand pipe and is fitted with the Villiers 1H engine rather than the AMC lump in the 80
f course you could be talking about a different bike to the one in the picture ??

Yep correct John its a Cruiser 68. All fully done now someill post a video next week when we take it for the first run. I think I refered to it as a Cruiser 80 in a previous post by accident Smile
