Dismantled Falcon 81 available

Post  ian t on Thu Jun 29, 2017 8:25 am

In about 1976, I dismantled and stored my then working Falcon 81, and have it stored in my garage. It is available for collection, to some-one who wants to rebuild. I believe I have all the components still. It is a Falcon 81, 197cc, NFX 723, first registered May 1959, frame nos AN86459;  Engine nos 662B4048. Registered on V5 as 'not licensed'. Location, in East Sussex. I don't want payment, but prefer it goes to a worthy case.

Falcon 81

Post  john87 on Wed Jul 05, 2017 9:33 pm

Hi All,

Well, i am the extremely lucky owner of a new Falcon 81!!

I just do not know what to say.... Ian, the owner, is an absolutely lovely bloke. It was an absolute pleasure to meet him when I collected the bike today. It was a 460 mile round trip, but i had a lovely day out!!

The bike is beautiful.. Ians dad, [an instrument engineer] stripped it, [in 1976] and every nut and bolt were replaced where they came from, wheel spindle threads and the like greased, and there is even a VERY neat, complete wiring diagram, all done by hand by Ian's dad.

It is in marvellous condition FAR FAR too good to restore, it just wants assembling. This is a bike i will keep to the end of my days..

I am so so pleased i cannot tell you...
