Missing part

Post  pecon on Mon May 22, 2017 2:54 pm

Just getting on with the rebuild and I find that I am missing the rear brake arm roller part number 002382 in the parts book, sometimes refered to as a swivel pin. I had everything bagged and tagged but when I opened the bag the pin was missing, sods law I suppose scratch .

If anyone can tell me where I can source one or if one off a different machine might work I would be most grateful. Unfortunately I dont have the facilities to make one up.

TIA

Peter

Is it the one that goes in the split of the rear brake arm? Round bar, slight chamfer each end " hole through the middle. Sideways not end to end.

Sounds like a perfect description Bigjim. The threaded end of the rod from the brake pedal runs through it and the winged adjuster on one side.

How desperate are you? Looking at my Drawing I made a few years year back, it should be 0.5" in diameter and 0.75" long, with a 17/64 hole, see the YELLOW bobbin in the rear plate

Well not quiet at the desperation stage, but getting there Neutral . If I don't have any luck locating something suitable I'll have a go at making something up. I did a quick check on the front one and the dementions are similar to yours, 1/2" diameter, .8" long.

I will make one this week for you. Amazingly I found a length of SS 0.5" bar in the shed, I might even get one of my students to make a few. YES, we still do metalwork in schools!

That would be brilliant. I'll send on a PM with my details. Ah metalwork, I remember a teacher throwing something at me for leaving a chuck key in a lathe and leaving it unattended, a lesson never forgotten, Very Happy ,
