What is This Engine ?

Hi Guys

it seems like Villiers Engine not sure , it is 98cc or 150cc or 197cc , it seems bigger then 98cc

Can someone identify the engine .. please

Very sad remains of a Villiers 4F or 6F 98cc engine, cannot read the engine No, This engine was not used in an FB , but was used in James Comet and Excelsior Consort, if you post the engine No I can let you know what it was originally fitted into ?

It is a Villiers 98c 6F out of a James L1 cadet,( 2 speed foot gear change ) The coding 393B gives the model and the customer ( James) it was supplied to.

Yes slip of the tongue so to speak Yes same bike , just different engine, front down tube and exhaust/saddle
Yes Comet L1, the Cadet was an L15,or L15A so was half right had L1 correct, but typed cadet instead of Comet,
Will leave the original response up there , just to show I am fallible !

I have James Comet L1 1956 frame/wheels/bits. hopefully the engine misery days will be gone soon
