Very sad remains of a Villiers 4F or 6F 98cc engine, cannot read the engine No, This engine was not used in an FB , but was used in James Comet and Excelsior Consort, if you post the engine No I can let you know what it was originally fitted into ?

It is a Villiers 98c 6F out of a James L1 cadet,( 2 speed foot gear change ) The coding 393B gives the model and the customer ( James) it was supplied to.

INDEED I DO !

Post  piston 197 on Sat Apr 22, 2017 6:22 pm

Yes slip of the tongue so to speak Yes same bike , just different engine, front down tube and exhaust/saddle
Yes Comet L1, the Cadet was an L15,or L15A so was half right had L1 correct, but typed cadet instead of Comet,
Will leave the original response up there , just to show I am fallible !
