Hi just purchased a Francis Barnet 250 twin and am trying to get the year of registration the chassis No is BBC13211 or BBC15211 and Engine Serial No: 95OA 2515. Can anyone help me? Thanks Phil

Hi Phil,

Probably a 1960 Cruiser 80 Would have had an AMC 250 single originally The 950a twin engine was probably from a greeves Sun cotton panther ambassador etc

As Peter says above
Frame No beginning B are 1960 Cruiser 80, models made between August 1959 and September 1960 and are 1960 year models, this machine would have original housed an AMC 25T single cylinder engine, which shares the same engine mounting points as the Villiers 250 twin.
The 950A coding was used on machines made by Ambassador, Cotton , Dayton , Panther , Greeves , and Sun , but not Francis Barnett

Looks like someone has done exacly what FB themselves did to produce the model 89, but it is not an original pairing as the second letter of the FB twin is H and not C
