Leaking head 172cc

Post  Fun on Fri Mar 10, 2017 4:09 pm

Ok so slowly working through this bike, with thanks to everyone on here.

After rebuilding the basics and regranting the head it seems to leak a little. The hole in the head where the bolts run are pretty worn for the matabkensurface in that area is only a couple of mil, not helped by the 196cc piston someone fitted at some point. It runs and rides fine. Couple of options and would like thoughts:

1- leave the slight leak and work on ththe assumption it will coke up and seal in no time
2- create a small copper gasket
3- have bolt hole in head drilled and inserts added to give a better face

Any thoughts ideas?

The guy who mentioned to me about letting it coke up said to keep torquing down after each run once cooled down
