No compression

Post  S.C_07 on Sat Jan 07, 2017 4:15 pm

Hi , recently changed out the clutch on a 1959 falcon 10E , I went to start it and the bike had no compression , you couldn't hear the piston moving , the timing shaft wasn't spinning , I took the spark plug out and everything was fine piston moving and shaft spinning as normal
Anyone know what may be causing this problem
Thanks scott

Clutch slipping

Post  piston 197 on Sat Jan 07, 2017 7:06 pm

Your Clutch is now slipping !, there is adjustment in the centre of the clutch dome, screw and locknut, and at the clutch actuating arm at the other end of the gearbox.
If you remove the outer clutch case and slacken the locknut in the clutch dome and unscrew the screw in the centre a turn or two, the clutch should now drive the engine, if it does not, you have possibly assembled it wrongly ??
