Wanted: 389 Carb body

Hello all,

I am looking to buy an Amal 389 carb body with the angled spray tube fitted to the jet block. If you have one spare that you are willing to sell, please PM me or call me on 07835 455832. I will also consider a full carb. I'm located near Bournemouth, Dorset.

Carburettor

There are a few on eBay from 20.00 upwards. I think to have the 2 stroke version it's the numbers after the 389 that matter but you could change or even alter the spray tube, I have converted a couple of Concentrics

Hi Ken,

I did pick up a spray tube from Amal a couple of days ago, but the "tube" is about 2/5" in length. I managed to tap out the incorrect flat top tube but trying to re-seat the angled tube is beyond me and my shed. To be honest, my carb body isn't great, the flanges aren't perfect so I thought it would be wiser to swap the body over instead.

Why don't you angle your old tube and refit it. Some of the different spray tubes have different bases so don't fit the wrong charb
