Merlin 57 Battery holder

Post  blackjak on Mon Dec 05, 2016 8:35 am

After 3 years I have nearly completed my Merlin 57 restoration. Due to the original engine having been dismantled into a thousand pieces by the previous owner I have rebuilt a 6E engine that I had. I have reassembled the bike and temporarily fitted the engine for the first time. I now find that the battery support is in the way of the air filter. I am presuming that it is the larger engine that is causing this problem or is there a different manifold that I should be looking for that will allow me to fit the air filter. I have tried other S25's that I have but all have the same problem.
