Hi John (Mr. S) I have a feeling I HAVE IN MY STORE OF PARTS, WHAT i THINK MAY BE A CRUISER 80 TANK. iT HAS THE FLIP UP FILLER CAP which is what makes me think it is for an 80 (I`m sure JH would be able to confirm or shoot me down in flames!
Incidently, I have at last recovered my drawings for making & fitting the High Lift stand on the Cruiser 84, very sorry for the delay but you know why!. Do you still want them ? I ask because I note you are disposing of some 84 parts, have you given up on that model?
Regards, Mike.

Tank Type

Post  piston 197 on Wed Nov 23, 2016 3:35 pm

Mike,
Yes the tank with the flip top filler was used on the Cruiser 80, but 1957 only, all models of the 80 and 89 used the half turn alloy filler like the Falcon 87( but with an oil measure) from 1958 onwards.
John is converting an incomplete model 84 into a model 80, hence the frame and tinware not required that is for sale.
I have supplied him with frame rails and centre section from an 80 to this end and the unique 84 parts are the ones he has surplus

Thanks yet again John for your help, am I right in saying indeed I have a 1958 Cruiser 80 tank for sure? Also, are you not interested in the 84 frame parts, because I am.

regards, Mike.

No Mike I do not want or need the Cruiser 84 bits,

If your tank has the flip up, flush fitting tank top then it is 1957 unique to the models made for the 1957 year model with frame No beginning YC
This 1957 model 80 also had a different brake light switch , bolted to the chainguard, rather than the rocker type used from 1958 onwards and previously on the Falcons from 1955.
