Clutch route

Post  banjo boy on Tue Nov 08, 2016 8:36 pm

Hi all
I have a new clutch cable from JJ cables for my 87 and wondered which route is best the one that I fitted originally was routed through the left hand hole on the yoke then round right hand side of head stock down centre then through the large hole in the right side of side panel housing then finally to clutch, was this the correct route originally taken, would be interested to know what routes other model 87 owners have.

Regards

The original routing was through the LH hole in the yoke, then above the LH front tank mounting to the headstock and along the top tube above the Wipac rectifier. Then under the seat and curved down to the clutch housing through the space between the two removable covers.

Is that the same as the Falcon 74 cable routing?

Very unlikely, since the Villiers 8E engine clutch operating mechanism is in a different position to that of the AMC engine. I can be certain of the Falcon 87 cable routing since I have owned my bike from nearly new in the 1960's. Sandy
