Falcon 81 help

Post  S.C_07 on Sun Oct 30, 2016 2:50 pm

Hi there i have a 1959 falcon 81 with a 10E engine, i fabricated myself a set of engine mounts and at the moment the engine looks absolutely solid , but am now wondering if there is suposed to be any type of tubber mounting if so where should it be.
Thanks
Scott

engine mounts

Fabricated a set of engine mounts ?
Front and bottom mount should be welded onto the frame and be in the correct position and rear mounts should be 2 triangular plates with 3 holes to locate the gearbox and to attach to the frame.

There are no rubber mounts, or ever or do not need any on the Falcon 81, there is a head steady from one of the cylinder head bolts to the top frame tube, under the tank

FB Falcon 81 mounting

The engine is attached to the frame by bscy studding (with plain section through the mounting holes). There is also an engine steady from the cylinder head to the frame. No rubber mounting (although the 2T and 4T engines are rubber mounted).

Ahhh brilliant thank you very much for the clarification guys . Yeah i had to fabricate a couple of those triangular brackets as the bike came to me in boxes and was missing them. But its appears to be solid , thanks guys.
