always possible

Post  piston 197 on Wed Sep 21, 2016 6:36 pm

We would need the letter coding of the frame Number STAMPED IN, on the L/Hand side of the headstock, on a Merlin the second letter will either be a K or an L dependent on the model, the first letter gives the year. any letters after the number determines the colour
Without these details you are enquiring about " the length of a piece of string "
Try posting again with the frame Number and the engine number would be useful ?

Frame number

Post  piston 197 on Wed Sep 21, 2016 7:39 pm

T = 1953
T = series II
M= Falcon 58
S= swing arm suspension
6 4 7 1 5 = Unique frame No
B = Azure blue paint finish

The engine in a seriesII Falcon 58 should be a Villiers 8E, the engine No is across the top of the front engine mount stamped into the alloy and will be in the form of
375B
12345

prices

Post  piston 197 on Tue Sep 27, 2016 4:33 pm

Unfortunately none of this old stuff has a finite price, desire is the governing figure ( and I do some work as an auction motorcycle valuer !) If not sure enter it into auction , on line, or real time auction, it will always find it's level, or accept what you think is a fair offer.
For a restored Falcon 58 dealers are pricing them in the 1500/2000 price bracket, depending on the level of restoration, auction prices are similar, for an unrestored model the price is 500/800 depending on appearance and running condition a complete machine , non-runner, but presentable is at the bottom end of this and a complete unrestored runner is at the top end.

How long is a piece of string ?
