FB 1954 Cruiser 68 Throttle question

Post  philipburton on Thu Sep 15, 2016 8:50 pm

Hi Guys

Newbie question - Ive loosened up my throttle as much as possible, but when you twist it to open up it , the throttle twist handle will not automatically rotate round back to resting like a modern bike - Im assuming this is to allow signalling etc - is this normal or should it "auto return" to idle. (first ever old bike restoration so be gentle Very Happy )

Yes it should return, is the throttle freely moving, undo the cable and check, is the cable free, undo at both ends and check, is the slide returning freely ?

Check the adjuster on the bottom of the twist grip under the cable entry there should be an adjuster screw & locknut
