1954 Falcon Rear Suspension

Post  Brentis1 on Wed Aug 24, 2016 3:59 am

Hi Gents,
I have just got the rear suspension on my model 67 Falcon disassembled and want to check the length of the unit fully extended. My one measures 12.4" centre to centre (of the mounting bushings top and bottom). Every other model Falcon is fitted with 11.9". I just want to check someone has not retrofitted the wrong shocks😀

Thanks for the help!

My cross section illustration shows 12.5 inch free length, 10.5 riding, 8.75 closed. 12.4 free is about right. They have be compressed to fit into the frame, I seem to recall.
