Correct size spokes for 21 inch rim conversion

Post  Stevejoyce on Fri Jul 22, 2016 6:13 am

Hello there. I picked up a 6 inch FB front brake hub from the club stand last weekend at the vmcc event. (At a good price thanks for that) I have a 21 inch rim with 36 holes and want to fit that to the 6 inch half width brake hub for my Norman B2s trials bike.
Someone must have fitted a FB front hub to a 21 inch wheel rim so could you tell me the spoke size needed and any supplier ?

Thanks
Steve.

I have never tried this thing, so no idea if it works, but if you tried it for an existing wheel and then measured a spoke you would know!!!

It's most likely me you purchased the hub from .

I have just respoked my first wheel. Always wanted to do one. That was a rear.
I have spokes ordered to do the same as you. I have an ACRONT alloy 21" front rim. Without taking a spoke out I gauged from my other bike and made it 225mm you measure from the end of the thread to under the bend.
The people that are making it mailed me saying unless I go to 222 or 227 they can't do it so went for 222 in 4.5mm stainless with 6.8nipples as the ACRONT has 7mm holes
See eBay number.

Yes the rear ones came and are fitted.
They are good for the price. Stainless with plated brass nipples.
I went for what is called 4mm which is really 3.5mm as the thread is rolled not cut and that makes a 4 MM. thread . 4.5 may have been better in the rear but I am sure it will be ok.
I looked all over and these were the best priced by far. If not from Germany with high postage it would have been better but there you go Crying or Very sad
