Cruiser 89 Twin Coils

Post  bpmsr on Wed Jul 13, 2016 1:14 pm

I am currently part way through restoring a 1963 Cruiser 89 Twin, and I am stuck on how the H.T. coils are mounted.

I got the bike in "kit" form, so I didn't have a lot to go on in this respect.  I assume they both fit under the seat, however, I don't see any fixing points, and since the battery carrier is also missing, I'm not sure how it all fits together.

Any advice you can give would be much appreciated.

You have answered your own question, they are mounted to the battery carrier ( underneath)

THANKS

Many thanks, I had assumed that they might attach to the bottom of the battery carrier, but the space seems very tight. As I still have to fabricate the battery carrier, can anyone provide the dimensions? I have worked them out approximately from the mounting points, but the exact measurements would be more accurate...
