Compression test

Post  ScottT on Tue Jul 12, 2016 9:29 pm

If i was to do a compression test on a Villiers 30C what sort of figure would i be looking at for it to be acceptable?
I'm just thinking its easier to do this first and see the results then i'll know if i need new rings/rebore.

Compression

You won't get much of a reading on a 2 Stroke Scott. It's not like doing the same on a car. You can feel both the primary and secondary compression on the kickstart lever! It would be more how well it holds it than how much. Or you could remove the head and have a look or the barrel and have a measure of the rings.
I would say unless you feel you have a problem leave it be.
