Speedometer Spares

Post  Mikexyz on Fri Jun 17, 2016 6:05 am

Morning.
Wondering if any member has either a non working or broken speedometer, ( or even parts) that I can buy to repair mine?
I'm after the small fibre worm gear that drives the odometer reading - mines lost a few teeth.
I've fitted an 'indian made' alternative but it reads nonsense.
Any help appreciated.

The later FB bikes were fitted with Smiths magnetic speedometers. These were cheap and not intended to be repaired, but there are specialist repairers who can sort them out. PM me if you need some names.

Thanks for reply, but I have opened + repaired them before - it's just a gear I need so I'd rather get a damaged one + recycle it for parts.

Hi Mike,

You could try A.E. Pople Ltd @ Andover who is very good with Smiths Speedo's
