Tri-pressure forks

Post  750guy on Fri May 06, 2016 1:44 pm

I just acquired 2 frames (rigid), gas tank and seat and both have the Tri-pressure forks. I have removed the forks from the triple trees but I can't figure out how to disassemble the fork unit. Does anyone have an exploded diagram of the forks? Also the frames have no serial numbers on the frame necks, are they on another spot on the frame? Thanks

front forks

No not FB, these are unique to James 1950/52, two types leading axle ( spindle on front of fork leg) and in line type, should come apart easy enough, I am assuming you took the chrome caps off to remove them from the yokes ( triple trees), The top of the fork springs are retained below this and legs can be removed with springs attached once released from the top

Aaah, thank you for that ID of my forks. Much appreciated. I have disassembled to here, but nothing moves from inside?
