Help with bike identification

Post  Phil_L on Sat Jan 09, 2016 2:25 pm

Hi everyone,

I just purchased my first FB from a friend whom I have been bugging to sell to me for over a year. According to him the bike is a 1934 but wanted to make sure so that I can get the proper paperwork.

FB Cruiser
Frame # EB30996
Engine# BVF or BVY 1419

Thanks for the help. It won't be the last question I ask. Laughing

identification

Post  piston 197 on Sat Jan 09, 2016 3:16 pm

E is the identifier for 1935, ( made between September 1934 and August 1935, so could be right in assuming 1934, but would be classed as 1935 for identification purposes.
The second letter B suggests it is a Cruiser Model 39

The engine No should be BYF ( not BVF or BVY) and would be a Villiers XIVA ( 14A) 249cc engine
