Leg shield brackets/wiring diagram 1940 K45 Cruiser

Post  scim_rebel on Mon Oct 19, 2015 9:49 am

The first question(s) regarding my new acquisition of a 1940 K45 Cruiser, if I may:

Could anyone supply any photos/annotated diagram giving the shape and dimensions of the leg shield brackets, please? Alternatively, if anyone should have a set for disposal...
Is there such a thing as a wiring diagram for the 45 model specifically? (I have one for the '39', but this has coil ignition as opposed to that by flywheel magneto.)
The four 1/2 wing nuts for securing the two bonnets are missing; what are my chances of getting hold of these items (ho ho ho, one lives in hope...). I also have a vague recollection that the wing on the two front nuts nearest the leg shields is smaller. Is this the case?

Many thanks in advance Very Happy

Legshields etc Cruiser

The leg shield brackets are 1" wide and 1/8" thick.
Upper bracket 8.25" x 1.25"
Lower Bracket 7.25" x 1.25"
Inner (pump mounting) 2.75"

If you send me PM with your e mail I will send photos (takes forever on here)

Unable to help on wiring diagram as I have coil. Had to start from scratch on that as I could not find diagram.

My bonnet wing nuts were also missing, but using mudguard ones as pattern, with the aid of a friendly welder made some. The front one is indeed different from the rear one in order to clear the profile of the bonnet. I discovered this after making four, so you are welcome to the two rear ones I have spare.
Will also send photo with e mail.

I am in Somerset, if you are anywhere near come and look at the leg shield brackets.
