Front brake cable

Post  sqaffor on Sun Jun 14, 2015 10:44 am

Is there anyone out there with a 48 - 54 Falcon who can let me know the inner cable and outer sheath lengths for the front brake please. Also looking for a chain guard to suit same - doesn't matter if it's beaten up! Thanks, Steve

cable length

The Romac cable book shows the same cable for the Falcon 54,55,58 and Merlin52 and 57 from 1952 onwards only shows the overall length of the cable which is 2Ft 11in so guess that is the overall inner length , obviously the outer will be shorter, but there are no figures ? but on another note I probably have a new old stock cable, would you like me to have a look?

Thanks JH - That's good - I've a couple of cables here that might do the trick. I've had to make a new brake arm and have to make up a clevis end for the cable. When I get the front end reassembled we'll see how it goes, so don't go searching your cables just yet. Steve
