Merlin Front Suspension

Post  MrTweedy on Sun May 17, 2015 4:01 pm

Hello everybody.

Looking for some more information.

I've been doing some work on my Merlin's almost non-existent front brake to try and improve its stopping power. I've made some progress by stripping the brake and rubbing down the glazed over high spots of the brake shoe.
However, now the brake is working better I'm finding that once the forks have compressed under braking, they aren't in much hurry to return to where they started at. I'm guessing the springs are just old and worn but it there something I should be looking at first?
Also, are suspension components available for my 1949 Merlin?

Any advice, information or help would be most appreciated.

Matt

Are your forks binding?

I'm not so sure it's binding, I'll give it a look tomorrow.
