Villiers Carb

Post  tealbug on Wed Feb 25, 2015 2:30 pm

As I mentioned in my previous post I do not know model of carb fitted to my 1955 falcon but note then when brass screw for needle is level with top of slide, there is only 1.75" protruding I have tried screwing it down but it gets tight after about 60 thou down, am I doing something wrong and how do I know when mixture is correct? carburettor

The Falcon 70 should have the S25 carburettor and the needle length from the flat of the slide should be 1.95", take the needle out completely, there should be a spring under the head of the needle, you could have the wrong spring that is going coil bound before the correct amount of needle is protruding, or the wrong needle ??
