Villiers 9E Clutch

Villiers 9E Clutch

I am fitting new friction plates and springs to my 9E trials bike clutch. I am not sure if this clutch is standard (picture below)but the centre hub has 9 springs. The new springs have inner springs as well. I think I read somewhere that you don't have to use them all but want to get it correct first time so .
Has anyone fitted these and if so what springs did you use?

Ken, you use 3 of the inner springs equi-spaced to get an even lift.

I am still waiting for the new plates so will just leave 3 springs in .

springs

Ken , if you decide to go road racing, scrambling or Go-karting with your engine then 9 of each may be needed, but in your trials bike 9 large and 3 small inner springs will be ample, if you put all 9 of each in , it does make the lever action very stiff

I think along with new competition plates the springs as you suggested will be worth a try .
