workshop/parts manual & other... Falcon 1964 info.

Post  Bobberboy on Tue Oct 21, 2014 2:44 am

Hi I have recently bought a 1964 Falcon, I'm told it is an AMC engine built by Villiers MK10E - 20T. One piece of paper says it is an 81 model another says it's an 87 model. Can someone confirm what I have. Also I would like to buy a workshop & parts manual to be able to replace/overhaul the fork seals etc, also where I can buy an exhaust baffle, the exhaust looks like a copy of the original, I like loud but this is ridiculous!!! Hope someone can help as Google is pretty useless on pinpointing info on this. Thanks.

Your frame number prefix will tell you year / model if you would like to post it here. The simplest way to tell whether an 81 or 87 is which side the exhaust is on. Left hand side Falcon 81 Villiers 10E, Right hand side Falcon 87 AMC 20T. 1964 suggests Falcon 87.

Falcon 1964 AMC 20T

Post  Bobberboy on Tue Oct 21, 2014 8:40 am

Hi thanks for the prompt reply! The frame number is 92231& the engine number is V20T9028.

Can you point me in the right direction for a manual, particularly for a fork overhaul& an exhaust baffle.

Thanks.

Hi, The two letters at the beginning of the frame number will tell the year / model. I believe an 87 is model F so BF would be Model Year 1960 (Sept 59 to end of Aug 1960), CF 1961, DF 1962 etc. From the engine number it is a Falcon 87. Manuals crop up regularly on ebay or club members can buy copies from the club librarian. Usual source for exhausts is Armours.

Falcon 87 info. Manual needed!

Hi Thanks again for the prompt reply, will ring Armours shortly. If anyone has a manual or copy please drop me an email as the ones on line don't seem to correspond to a 1964 Falcon 87. Thanks again.
