Engine re build - new cork in clutch

Post  Greecegun on Tue Jul 29, 2014 8:02 pm

good day... been to Villiers to get all the missing bits to start the engine re build.
also swapped the clutch plate over for a reconditioned one.. but one question is.
am i better to give this a good soaking in clutch oil before assembling, as opposed to putting it back in a dry state ! or does it not matter ? will the process of when its running do the job ??

Soaking it in ATF is a good plan. A dry Cork Clutch plate will burn quite quickly, and soaked is it's normal state anyway.
