Hi
I have a 58 james captain, wheel nuts each end and slots below, and have fitted mid 60s falcon forks,no headlamp brackets on top yoke, big square lower mudguard stay, brake on right.can anyone help me with either a suitable wheel,or parts to convert my spindle,or should I just swap lower legs.

fork swap

It will be a lot easier to change the fork bottoms , you will need ,older style Mk1 fork bottoms , springs and bottom retainers ( as these are anchored through the brake stop and not through the bottom of the forks on the Mk2 type) also the 2 tapered retaining bolts that go through the brake stop and into the bottom spring anchor,
I probably can help with all of these parts, if you decide to go this way send me a p.m,.
Changing the wheel is a possibility , but you will need the complete assembly as the nut, spindle, cover plate , brake plate and spacers are all different, also as this hub was only used on the very last models it is difficult to find, the 6" hub from the 250cc is easier to find, but again you will need a complete hub/ spindle assembly and will have to build the rim onto it , ( unless you are very lucky and find a complete wheel with a good rim ?)
