Powerbike Front Suspension Bands

Post  Geoff on Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:10 pm

I'm re-assembling a restored Powerbike and need to know how many rubber suspension bands are used? Is it a single band on each side or a pair of bands on each side. Any help appreciated

2 bands are used, one for each side. I used to have a powerbike and may have a couple of bands left over, I have sold the bike now. They weren't exactly right, a little short but they did the trick. I'll check at the weekend and let you know. Paul.

Thanks Paul,
I've actually got 4 bands because I was told that you needed two each side. When I did that - wrongly as I now know - the tension is such that it pulls the suspension onto the headstock - which can't be right and won't be balanced by the weight of the bike. So many thanks for your advice. I'll reduce it to one band per side
